After the recent disasters, the Government, through the Department of Finance, requested the World Bank to take the lead in coordinating the implementation of a Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) in close cooperation with government agencies and other development partners. The PDNA work was initiated through a technical meeting on October 20, 2009 at the World Bank, attended by over 100 representatives from government and development partners.
